Miami County Recorder Table of Fees

With the passage of HB 95 on June 20, 2003, the State Legislature doubled all recording fees EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2003.

This additional revenue will be sent to the State of Ohio to fund the Ohio Housing Trust Fund and the State's General Fund.

FEES OF THE MIAMI COUNTY RECORDER

For the services hereinafter specified the County Recorder shall charge and collect the fees provided to be paid upon the presentation of the respective instruments for record or upon the application for any certified copy of the record as follows:

The fees provided in this section shall be paid upon the presentation of the instruments for record, or upon the application for any certified copy of the record excepting fees and expenses incurred in the filing of United States tax liens, discharges, and releases, the payment for which shall be governed by section 317.09 of the Revised Code.

Under Sec. 317.32 the County Recorder shall charge and collect the following fees:


For recording and indexing when the photocopy or any similar process is employed, TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS for the FIRST TWO PAGES and EIGHT DOLLARS for each page thereafter, size eight and one half inches by fourteen inches, or a fraction thereof, including the caption page of such instrument. Sec. 317.32.

For certifying a photocopy from the record previously recorded, TWO DOLLARS per page, size eight and one half inches by fourteen inches, or fraction thereof; for each certification where the Recorder's seal is required, except as to instruments issued by the armed forces of the United States ONE DOLLAR. For manual or typewritten recording of assignment or satisfaction of mortgage or lease or any other marginal entry EIGHT DOLLARS. Sec. 317.32
Fee = $8.00

For entering any marginal reference by separate recorded instrument FOUR DOLLARS for each marginal reference set out in such instrument, in addition to the recording fee set forth in Division (D) of this section.

For indexing in the real estate mortgage records, pursuant to division (B) of section 1309.40 of the revised Code, financing statements filed which are to become fixtures, FOUR DOLLARS EACH NAME INDEXED IN REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE RECORD. Sec. 317.32.

For recording manually any plat not exceeding six lines FOUR DOLLARS and for additional line TWENTY CENTS. Sec. 317.32.

In any County where the Recorder employs the photostatic or any similar process for recording maps or plats, he shall charge and collect for recording or re-recording of any map, plat or print, a fee of TEN CENTS per square inch, for each square inch of the plat filed for such recording, with a minimum fee of FORTY DOLLARS. Sec. 317.32.

FEES- "TORRENS" LAW- Sec. 5310.15

Under the law providing for the settlement, registration, transfer and assurance of land titles and to simplify and facilitate transactions in real estate, known as the "Torrens System."

The recorder shall receive the following fees:


(A) For original registration of title, issuing duplicate certificate, entering memorials and memoranda, as directed by the decree, and indexing it, SIXTY DOLLARS.
Fee = $60.00

(B) For examining and registering each transfer, including the filing of all papers therewith, entering memorials, issuing new duplicate certificate of title and indexing it, SIXTY DOLLARS for the first distinct body or parcel of land contained in such certificate, and FOUR DOLLARS for each additional distinct body or parcel of land contained in such certificate.
Fee = $60.00 + $4.00 for each additional distinct body or parcel of land contained in same certificate.

(C) For filing, examining, and entering a memorial of each mortgage or lease, and indexing it, for each separately registered parcel, TWENTY DOLLARS.
Fee = $20.00

(D) For filing, examining, and entering a memorial of each lien, charge, or demand and indexing it, for each separately registered parcel of land, TEN DOLLARS.
Fee = $10.00

(E) For cancellation of any memorial or memorandum, TEN DOLLARS; for entry of change of address or notice of dower, for each separately registered parcel, TEN DOLLARS.
Fee = $10.00

(F) For each certified copy of a registered certificate, issuing a mortgagee's duplicate certificate, or issuing a new owner's duplicate certificate to replace one which has been lost or destroyed, THIRTY DOLLARS.

(G) For filing, examining, and entering a memorial of each release, assignment, or waiver of priority of a mortgage, lease, lien, charge, or demand and indexing it, for each separately registered parcel, TEN DOLLARS.

(H) For filing, examining, and entering a memorial of each official certificate of pending suit, judgment, lien, attachment, execution, or levy and indexing it, for each separately registered parcel, TEN DOLLARS.
